01 Publishing is extreamly excited to announce that our first stop on our convention tour of 2012 will be at Image Expo in Oakland CA from February 24-26. We will have apperances by Josh Finney and Kat Rocha of Titanium Rain as well as Patrick McEvoy from Game of Thrones, Cthuhlu, and Legend of the Five Rings. These creators will be there through most of the weekend so make sure you stop by. We’ll be located at table 609 in the Small Press Section.

Reviewer, Dianthrax, has penned an awesome review of of Titanium Rain (published by Archaia) for Metal Machine Magazine. The creators of Titanium Rain are currently working with the Audio Comics Company and 01 Publishing to produce an audio drama based on the work. Metal Machine Magazine is a web-zine dedicated to metal/hard rock, comics, sci fi/horror, and animation.

On January 18th we’ll be participating in the Web Black Out to protest SOPA.

What is SOPA?  The so-called “Stop Online Piracy Act”, a bill that if
passed will allow a handful of media conglomerates to censor the web
how ever they see fit.  That’s right, if passed the likes of Viacom,
Disney, and Fox Entertainment will have the right to block websites on
mere “suspicions of piracy”.  No actual piracy needs to have occurred.
No proof, no court order, nothing. If one of these companies sees
something they don’t like (or want to shut down a web-based
competitor) they can just pull the plug with no burden of proof on
their part.  So far only a few of countries in the world impose this
kind of rigid control over the web –chief amongst them being China
and Iran.  Clearly SOPA must be stopped. To that end January 18th,
2012 will be the largest internet protest in history. Thousands of
sites across the internet, including some of the biggest in the world,
will be blacking out and directing people to contact Congress to kill
the web censorship bills.

Recording the Titanium Rain Audio Drama

November 5^th saw Josh Finney and Kat Rocha (creators of Titanium Rain) in Portland ME to oversee the recording of the upcoming Titanium Rain Audio Drama with the very talented Audio Comics Company.

The Audio Comics Company is comprised of veteran actors William Dufris and Lance Axed as well as comic book veteran writer Elaine Lee of Starstruck and Vamps.

The following is the twitter excerpts from Josh and Kat while they were there.

• It's quite an amazing thing to see talented actors apply their craft.
• The cast selected by @audiocomic was damn near perfect. And the brit who flew out to voice Happy? This woman is going to be famous. Serious
   
• One regret? I really wish Major Graves had more scenes because the actor @audiocomic got to play him took a handful of lines & MADE it art.
   
• Well, at least Major Graves has a lot of scenes in book 2. Yes we are already discussing it as an audio drama.
   
• Had a blast recording w/ the @audiocomics company. All true pros. Definately check them out if u haven't already
   
• You can see Liz Knowelden, the actress who played Happy, in the zombie comedy "Last Man On Earth" with Avery Brooks & Robert Piccardo.

• What was funny yesterday was teaching a group of actors the concept of the USMC chant "OOO-rah!" And they to starting using it constantly.
   
• It was also amusing to see their reactions as I explained the unofficial motto of the USMC was "Yeah! Get some!"
   
• Had to also explain it ALWAYS had to be "OOO-rah" and never "HOO-raw" because that mistake could get your ass kicked

The Titanium Rain audio drama is due out by second quarter of 2012.

Besides talking to all sorts of people, (and setting things  in the works for future updates), 01 Publishing is happy and excited to announce that it has acquired Josh Finney and Kat Rocha’s first project, Utopiates!! First published in 2006  by Bloodfire Studios, Utopiates is an unflinching portrayal of human behavior set in a dystopian, cyberpunk setting. After a little remastering, you can expect to see Utopiates available for digital download as well a graphic novel printed in the next 3 – 6 months.
