On July 31, 2014 the Kickstarter for Whispers from the Abyss was successfully funded to print this Kindle Exclusive anthology. Editor Kat Rocha started the Kickstarter to raise the funds to print this (till now) digital-only book due to the rave reviews and fan response. The Kickstarter not only raised it’s goal amount, but surpassed it by nearly $2000. Since it’s initial release in October of 2013, WftA has been delighting audiences who enjoy stories that play in H.P. Lovecrafts mythos. With writers like Greg Stolze (Delta Green), Nick Mamatas (Shotguns v. Cthulhu), Tim Pratt (Marla Mason), Dennis Detwiller (Delta Green), Greg Van Eekhout (The BoyRead More →

When running a printing company, you have to expect delays and unforeseen minor complications. Our printer just informed us that World War Kaiju is going to be delayed by two weeks. The paper was absorbing too much ink and the glue wasn’t taking. The result is the picture seen below. This is sad, yes, but also something that happens and isn’t a catastrophe. We here at 01Publishing are thankful that the delay will only be for two weeks and that early August will see the official launch of the book. But don’t worry. The launch party is still on for July 26th at Rising SunRead More →

Author Nick Milligan reviewed Whisper for SFFWorld.com,  spotlighting many of our contributors as standout stories including Jason Andrew’s Fear and Loathing in Insmouth…, David Tallerman’s My Friend Fishfingers…, Jonathan Sharp’s Nation of Disease, Lee Finney’s Give Me That Old Time Religion, and Charles Black’s Horrorscope. As for Josh Finney’s Death Wore Greasepaint he had this to say, The disturbed clown working his television studio audience of children into a primal frenzy – and the horror that follows – are the most vivid and memorable from this accomplished collection. Innsmouth Magazing recently reviewed Whispers from the Abyss and what a review we received! The reviewer, Allen Griffin really appreciated the short story format and had this to say about the content… While I would say this is a solid anthology front to back, there are, of course, standouts. The first that comes to mind is the white-knuckle hell ride of A.C. Wise’s “Chasing Sunset” and Nick Mamatas’ story by way of interrogation, “Hideous Interview with Brief Man.” Both stories capture a deep intensity and manage to probe the darkest regions of Lovecraftian fiction. Also notable, Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s “The Sea, Like Glass Unbroken,” a taleRead More →
